Aesthetics For Prominent Ears
Its the most important esthetic concern of pediatric
age group. Children tease their friends with large ears
without hesitation. This can lead to problems in the young
ages and psychologic problems can ensue. Therefore I advise
these patients to have surgery after age 4 before school age.
My team and I perform the surgery under general anesthesia. I
extract the sutures after one week and keep the tennis bandage
during night sleep for 2 months. By a simple operative
procedure these children are protected against life long
phychologic trauma.
